The 2025 Kia Sorento is the fourth generation to be released after wearing the same jib since 2020, but Kia has finally given its trusty three-row SUV a fresh coat of paint. The most striking change to the upcoming 2025 Sorento occurs at the front, where the redesigned headlights and grille now look less fierce and more like the design language of the all-electric EV9. We believe the gas, hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants of the Sorento will remain, with the same motors as before.
Kia Sorento design in 2025
The design of the mid-size Kia Sorento SUV is still relatively new, but it’s time for a mid-cycle refresh. This latest update will include a redesign of the front and rear aesthetics, as well as changes to the interior with a new screen. According to Kia, the 2024 Sorento will be an existing model, therefore the new Sorento is expected to arrive in the United States for the 2025 model year.
2025 Kia Sorento Interior
Inside, the 2025 Kia Sorento offers an attractive layout, good materials, and solid build quality. As we all know, the Kia Sorento has gone through several generations, and the current model is the fourth generation. They offer many of the same amenities as previous year models, as well as large cabins. The Kia Sorento has headroom, legroom, hip room, shoulder room and more. They also use high quality Kia Sorento interior materials and provide comfortable seating for both the driver and passengers. That’s why people love all the models.

2025 Kia Sorento Performance
The 2025 Kia Sorento will offer a variety of engine options for buyers to choose from. A 191-hp 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine comes standard, but a 281-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is also available. Both come with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the hybrid variant has a six-speed automatic transmission. We drove the top-level SX trim with the turbo-four and appreciated its ample boost, but we wished the powertrain felt more responsive. The same model has stable handling, a well-isolated ride and a firm brake pedal feel.
The combination of a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gas engine and an electric motor produces 227 horsepower in the eco-friendly Sorento hybrid. The Sorento plug-in hybrid with all-wheel drive shares the same engine and gearbox as the less powerful model, but thanks to a more powerful electric motor, the powertrain produces a total of 261 horsepower. The only engine available with a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is the X-Pro model, which also features 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires and a locking center differential.

The Sorento PHEV returns 25 mpg in Hybrid mode, 8 mpg less than we expected.

We’ve listed all the trim levels and estimated prices for the next Kia Sorento. while the release date is likely to arrive in the United States market next year. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The 2025 Kia Sorento offers a wide range of safety features as featured on previous years’ cars. Because safety features are required on all car models, the Kia Sorento only had five iterations. Several safety features, including safe exit warning, hill start assist, highway driver assist, and a variety of additional features for travelers as well as drivers, were included on previous Kia Sorento vehicles. We mentioned some of the key attributes of the 2025 Sorento.
- Forward accident warning
- Lane departure alert.
- Lane-keeping assistance
- Automated emergency brakes.
- Blind area monitoring
- Intelligent cruise control
- Rearview Camera
- Rear Crossing Traffic Alert
- Multiple airbags.
- Electrical Stabilization Control
Competitors to consider
Despite the large range of SUVs available, only a select few, like the Sorento, provide a third row of seating in a comparatively compact package. The Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, which are even smaller than the Sorento but still feature a third row of seats, should be taken into consideration if this packaging is necessary. The Toyota Highlander Hybrid is the larger option; otherwise, you’ll need to choose between the Toyota RAV4 hybrid and the Honda CR-V hybrid. In addition, the Sorento is available as a plug-in hybrid and with two traditional combustion powerplant options.
